The Austrian Institute for Icing Sciences (AIIS) and Pegasus are experts in the field of aircraft icing. In-flight icing of drones can have a major impact on operation, and hence safety of flight. To address this, AIIS and Pegasus are working on innovative ice protection systems. In addition, they are involved in various international drone related R&D projects which focus on enabling safe and energy efficient operation during cold weather.
